Our communities extend get-well wishes to John Lee Allison who had major surgery on his knee the past Tuesday at University of Kentucky Sports Medicine. He got hurt at Nicholas County football practice. His mother is Tracy Hollar Allison from the Saltwell Community. I know the team will be anxiously waiting for his return.

The graduating class of 1958 of Nicholas County High School had their 50th reunion at Blue Licks at the Worthington Center in the Arlington Room of the Lodge the past Saturday from 2:00 -7:00 P.M. We had 29 members present and most brought their spouse or friend.

The 1:30 P.M. Service at the Johnson Mathers Health Care on Sunday was given by Rev. Jim Gaunce and his wife, Phyllis led the singing. Donna Dixon sang three specials and Faye Letcher sang two.

Ms. Libby Earlywine returned home after spending a night at Bourbon County Hospital last week.

Mrs. Norma Buckler stepped in a hole and broke her ankle last week. The doctor inserted a screw in the bone and set it later. She lives on HWY 68 and is the daughter of Ms. Jewell Davis, so she has had a good nurse.

Our communities extend sympathy to the family of Pauline Jenkins who passed away last week. She and her devoted husband lived in the Rose Hill community.

Our communities extend congratulations to Angie Mitchell and Brian Holland who were married at 6:00 P.M. at the Saltwell United Methodist Church by the Pastor Rev. Howard Livingood. Angie is the daughter of Mr.& Mrs. David Gates and Brian is the son of Brenda and Wayne Sears. The couple will be living in the parsonage belonging to the church.

Sylvia Snapp Young spent one day the past week with Alberta Glass.

The Headquarters Methodist Church had a one-day Bible School on Saturday. There were 25 in attendance in al. Then that night they had a picnic and pool party at Blue Licks State park.

Jennifer Arnold and son, Christian, Phyllis Brady, Brenda Nolen, Lois and Walter Pridemore enjoyed the play “The Jungle Book” at Rohs Opera House, Cynthiana on Friday night. Arden Barnes was in the play and she is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Brannock and great granddaughter of Lois and Walter Pridemore. The director Mrs. Pat Grenier was very good with these plays, props, costumes, and etc.

Danita Earlywine and Shawna Hatton and their oldest children attended the State Fair on Sunday

Mrs. Sharon Feeback and Mrs. Jane Ellen Booth attended the one day school of Missions held at the Ruggles Methodist Camp on Saturday. Two different classes of Bible Study are given by two teachers and lunch provided by the mission team.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brady, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Keen Anderson and Linda Herrington, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Webb, Mr. and Mrs. John Cleaver, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Cleaver were among 250 people of Woodmen members and guests who enjoyed the Fish fry on Saturday night held at the former RECC grounds, Cynthiana. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doyle help do most of the preparation and put up more tables and chairs, help with most of the meal. Others of the family help serve Jeff Doyle, representative and financial advisor, gave a short talk, also gave pins for long time members and had several very nice door prizes.

The Headquarters Church was the scene of a baby shower, Sunday afternoon for Ricky and Stephanie Flora Cole. There were many in attendance and she and Ricky opened so very many gifts and eve n read the cards aloud. Sueann Thacker Morgan made the beautiful cake. It was given by Christy Flora Fuller and Sueann Morgan and others.

A good crowd attended the 90th birthday celebration Sunday, for Mrs. Sue Ruel, held at the old jail, given by two very special nieces and nephew, Diane Phillips and Larry Allison. Part of the many decorations were quilts because she made so many beautiful quilts.

Mr. and Mrs. Greg Doyle were in this past week from Norman, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doyle had a family dinner for them and others Sunday. Greg and Teresa and Phyllis Brady visited her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lemons Sunday night.

Phyllis Brady had a nice visit with Matthew Daley Kennedy 90 one day the past week. They enjoyed laughing, reliving old times and also with one of his caregivers.
